NON-BRASS Bethlehem Car Works 40 foot Steel Baggage Car KIT, cars 200-201

This kit represents Great Northern express cars numbers 200 and 201 between 1928 and 1943. These cars were received from ACF with steel underframes and sides as RPO cars GN 90(2) and 91(2) on November 2, 1913. They were rebuilt to GN 19(4) and 20(3), mail storage cars, on November 6, and 9, 1926 respectively. They were renumbered to 200 and 201 in 1928 and lettered for Railway Express Agency. They were rebuilt to heater cars 6(5) and 7(5) on January 11 and 26, 1943, respectively. No. 6 was sold to the Western Pacific as its No. 593 on November 11, 1968. No 7 was sold to SP&S as its No. 2 in October 1969, and was then sold for scrap to Jos. Simon & Sons on August 9, 1974. 

The Kit

The kit has cast resin sides, a wood roof and comes with many separate details. Trucks and couplers to be supplied by the modeler. HO scale.
