Gantry Crane - HO

The prototype of this Gantry Crane was located on the Great Northern near Willmar MN and was built during the 1930s. It was used to lift heavy objects between rail cars and motor vehicles.  Examples of products transferred include quarry stones, pre cast concrete items, steel coils, structural steel shapes and rails and anything else that would not roll off a flat car or gondola.

Model footprint is 5 inches long by 2 5/8 inches wide. The crane is 4 inches tall.
