Cement cars

We have two cement car models in the store.

One is 70 ton ACF designed and built cement cars. These models by Intermountain are a very accurate rendering of a lot of 25 cars the Great Northern bought in 1946. They were painted mineral red when delivered, as is the model, which is available with six car numbers. The railway would go on to acquire 405 cars of this design.

We also offer models of the 100 ton ACF center flow cars the Great Northern bought for cement service in 1966 and 1967. The railway acquired 200 of these cars in one lot. They were delivered in grey paint. It is very rare that we are able to place two generations of cars designed to handle a single commodity in the store at virtually the same time. These cars are by Accurail.
